Hard-charging rippers who pride themselves on throwing a little creativity into their Freeski routines will love the Faction Prodigy 3.0 Skis as an everyday driver. With plenty of tail rocker to make switch riding a pleasure, enough surface area to make you grin in anything but 2 feet of blower (we know, you'd be grinning anyway, just deeper down), and a solid build that relishes speed, the Prodigy 3.0 is just what park riders are looking for when they start looking to the top of the mountain.

Poplar and ash core:
Poplar is a soft, light-coloured wood with good flex and pop, as well as a great ability to absorb vibrations. Ash is a heavier and harder wood that combines well with poplar because it provides more rigidity and durability. This blend offers excellent hard snow edge hold and a solid platform for big receptions, with plenty of pop and flex to unleash your creativity.

Flax fibres:
Flax fibre is at the forefront of the new generation of eco-friendly materials used to make skis. The natural composite layers made from it are stronger and lighter than the traditional fibreglass layers used until now. The biaxial flax fibre layers provide excellent vibration absorption and offer all the stiffness and torsional stability you would expect from your gliding tool while being more environmentally friendly.

Full Strength Sidewall:
The full-strength sidewall is a structure that applies layers of protective material along the edges of the sidewall, between the edge and the upper topsheet. The edges offer the best possible stability and grip when the ski goes through a turn, while protecting the wooden core, edges and cover sheet from any external impacts and damage.

Dual-radius sidecuts:
The dual-radius sidecuts combine two radii on the one edge. On the front of the ski, the smaller radius enables the best responsiveness and control for short turns, while the bigger radius on the back of the ski offers maximum stability at high speed. This gives a ski that "surfs" smoothly whatever the curve angle and doesn't hunt unintentionally.

Surf Zones:
SurfZone technology is designed to combine the Rocker with the tapered shape of the tips to ensure that these two key characteristics are in perfect harmony. The Rocker provides lift and helps in the pivoting of the ski, while the Tapered Tip allows the widest part of the ski to be closer to the centre and thus reduce the risk of unwanted gripping by the edge. This technology gives an excellent lift and a gentle feel, whatever the conditions.

Anti-Chip Micro-Cap:
The micro cap is a hybrid construction that takes a premium edged sandwich construction, and fuses it to a lightweight and durable cap construction. Thanks to the micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides outstanding edge performance and torsional stability while the topsheet partially covers the edge, protecting the brittle edge that could otherwise flake off if there are shocks.

When will I receive my Order? - Depending on what it is and how large your order is plays a big part on how long it will take.

Once we receive your order we will get it out to you as soon as possible. Some times the stock can be in our Queenstown store and needs to be brought over to Wanaka to ship out. So small items are 1-3 business days and larger items 2-4 business days.

Please keep in mind that if you have a rural address this can add an extra day or two also.

In general, we ship our orders with CourierPost, which we run on a 1-2 day service with pickup at 2pm each day.  

Larger items, such as luggage, skis and snowboards, ship on an earlier service with PBT couriers. This is a fully traceable service. (Just to note: if it is a rural delivery, it can take a few more days depending on your local service.)


Want to come collect your order from our store in Wanaka or Queenstown? Great! We will email you when your order is ready to collect. This can take from 2-4 business days depending on what it is.

BaseNZ.com makes every effort to keep all offered products in stock and ship out orders within 36 hours on weekdays. Orders made during the weekend or on public holidays, when couriers do not operate, will be processed on the following business day.

Online is a crazy business and sometime inventory can get mucked up, we may not have the ordered item on hand. If we cannot fulfil your entire order, within the stated time frames, we aim to contact you within 36hrs (Mon-Fri). 

Should you not receive an order confirmation or update please check your spam/junk filter in your email as it may have been filtered incorrectly. 

If an item ordered is unavailable for shipping, depending on your preference, we will:

  • Substitute another product for your order
  • Refund or credit your order.
  • Ship your order at a later date
  • Contact you when the requested item is back in stock

We use Courierpost for smaller items and PBT Couriers for larger items. All items are sent on a traceable service and we will email you confirmation when your order is dispatched.

International orders will be calculated after the order has been placed and you will be notified on the cost.


We can offer the best price possible for a traceable, signature service which is targeted for 2-6 business days with a flat rate of $28 to Australia, as most of the orders are under 2KG. If your order is over 2KG, we will contact you to advise of the shipping rate. 

International shipping is non-refundable after the items have been sent.

*If your delivery is what is considered Rural / Urban by DHL or to the island of Tasmania where additional charges will be incurred we will contact you to advise you of this charge. At no point will we change an additional amount without your authorization.

You can use your credit card via our secure transaction gateway to pay or select to pay or any of our pay pay options. If your would like to pay by bank deposit just give us a call as this is an option we can accomodate.
