Capita, Outdoor 156, Union, Airblaster bindings, LDM helmets WHERE DO YOU SPEND YOUR WINTERS? In previous years I have spent them at Mt Ruepahu but this is my first year in wanaka and I have been riding Snow Park, Cardrona and Treble Cone. WHAT IS YOUR BEST SKIING STORY? Um well the stupidest story and I guess it is up there with the best is from last summer when I was riding at Heavenly and a guy I was riding with decided it would be cool to lick the metal bar that came down in front of us. His tongue got stuck….. and as he tried to pull it off it started to bleed. When he finally got his tongue back he was a few taste buds short. LIST 5 ITEMS YOU THINK SHOULD BE BAND FROM THE WORLD: Ski poles, they are always in the way when getting on the lifts. Prep, who really needs a designated time to do their school work. Budget Bacon, yuck!!! Monday mornings, that's self explanatory and Ice, what's is good for? Except throwing of course. WHAT IS YOU FAVORITE ITEM OF FOOD? BACON!!!!! WHAT WOULD YOU BE IF YOU WERE NOT A SKIER OR BOARDER? I would be a graphic designer. Or… no that's it. TO ME, BASE IS: A great opportunity to create relationships within the industry, a shop which shows major interest in some of New Zealand's best winter athletes and a shop which will be invaluable to me in my ambitions for snowboarding WHAT WOULD YOUR BEST DAY ON SNOW BE? My best day on the snow would be a blue bird, 40cm powder day with a nice 50 foot kicker and a tight crew with WORKING video camera and still cam. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVMENT? Staying up to date with my school work while I have all this amazing shiz going on Switch, Stage one and an amazing girlfriend. HOW IS YOUR SEASON GOING? GIVE US A BRIEF RUN OF WHAT YOU GOT UP TO? The season has been going great. No major injuries… knock on wood, it may have been a bit to relaxed but I have really enjoyed the hills down here and the fresh crews. WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR SEASON? At this stage I would have to say being picked up by Capita, Nic Wike has
really opened some doors for me into the industry. DESCRIBE YOUR BEST DAY OF THIS SEASON? I've had some great days up Park progressing my freestyle and I've had some awesome days building at T.C. Like last Sunday some friends and I found this big long rock that had a perfect wind blown take off and a super flat landing (which was sick) and we were flipping over it, jibbing it and staling on it. Got some dope photos and had a great time. DESCRIBE YOUR WORST DAY OF THIS SEASON? Not one day jumps to mind, I guess that's a good thing. PLAN FOR THE SUMMER? I have had my job application to Heavenly, Tahoe accepted so I am super excited to be going there instructing for close to six months. Hopefully I will make it across to Aspen at some point to check out Rachel Newton's summer camp at Copper and see my girlfriend as often as possible.
