What is Base Boot-fitting all about?
At BASE we have seasoned professional boot-fitters to ensure we get you in the correct boot to maximize your comfort and performance on the snow.
Our professional fitters are experienced ski and snowboard experts with backgrounds in: racing, freestyle and free-riding competitions; high level coaching; bio-mechanics and making problem feet comfortable. With experience garnered from New Zealand, Europe and North America, we bring you the advantage of leading technologies and applications to give you the best possible bio-mechanical advantage on the snow!
Boot Fitting Phases...
There are two important phases to the boot fit.
Firstly, to ascertain your foot shape, we will examine the height, width and volume of each aspect of your feet to recommend the best boot models for you.
Secondly we will go through a biomechanical and a lower limb flexibility assessment to ascertain your personal foot function. This aids us in understanding how we can maximize performance and comfort through use of a supportive bespoke 'Foot-Bed' to provide you with the best connection from the boot to the snow possible.
FAQ's
If I am new to snow sports, will I benefit from a custom made Foot Bed??
All of us perform to greater levels, with more efficiency and with more enjoyment when we have comfortable feet aligned correctly in the best fitting boots.
If I have boots already that are uncomfortable is there anything that can help??
We can provide many alterations and improve the fit on your current boots, plus bring the benefits of skiing in an aligned position to your current ski boots. Come in for a free assessment!
My old ski boots fit fine - why should I change them??
Ski and snowboard technology has changed dramatically over the last ten years with big paradigm shifts in shapes and actual technique. Concurrently our boots have changed to suit new skiing and riding styles. Ski boots are more upright in position with softer forward flexion to tune you in to new skis. Snowboard boots have improved molds and offer more powerful and dynamic support than ever before.
