Customer Reviews

Excellent for snowpack anaylsis
Review by Tom
I think the real strong point of the BCA companion shovel compared to some of the other shovels on the market is the shape of its blade. A lot of other shovels have very rounded and heavily grooved blades, the companion has a very square flat backed blade. As a result it creates nice flat square edges and faces of test columns when digging snowpack analysis pits allowing you to be more accurate with your testing. This shovel still digs very well and would be equally at home digging pits and building booters.

The ability to stash your probes in the shovel handle is a very functional design but remember that you can only store relatively short probes in the handle which should be fine for NZ conditions but if using this shovel overseas you might want to consider buying a stand alone probe. Would still thoroughly recommend this shovel!
